The results of the 2008 Reader Views Literary Awards are in, and Eclipsed by Shadow was a winner, placing second in the Fantasy category. It is a fantastic surprise! I wasn’t thinking of the story as fantasy due to the historical framework. I would guess the flying horse had something to do with it.

The work by first-time author John Allen Royce was one of four finalists in the Fantasy category. The title was co-nominated for Historical Fiction and General Fiction.
