About the Trilogy
The Legend of the Great Horse” is a fiction adventure that travels through the ages when horses were everyday companions in work, war, sport and spectacle. The story is told through the eyes of a young woman, a horse-crazy teenager traveling through history with knowledge of 21st Century horsemanship as her only defense.
Eclipsed by Shadow (2008) is the first book of the trilogy. The title won the 2009 Eric Hoffer Award for Young Adult literature, and earned second in the 2009 Reader Views Literary Awards. Eclipsed by Shadow was also named a Heartland Reviews GRREAT Book (Gifted and Reluctant Readers Explore Amazing Titles), and selected as an Independent Publisher’s Highlighted Title.
The trilogy’s first volume also earned excellent media and trade reviews, including a recommendation from Library Journal: “This series opener should appeal to fans of equestrian novels as well as historic fantasy and belongs in most libraries’ adult and YA collections.”
The second book of the trilogy, The Golden Spark will be published in 2010.
